Solvay will supply NdPr, Dy and Tb oxides to Noveon from 2026, boosting recycled domestic magnet production and supply chain resilience.

Solvay and Noveon Magnetics have signed a supply agreement for light and heavy rare earth oxides, with deliveries beginning in 2026. Solvay will provide neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr), dysprosium (Dy) and terbium (Tb) oxides to support Noveon’s production of sintered NdFeB magnets in the United States.

A portion of the oxides will be recovered from end-of-life materials, advancing closed-loop sourcing and recycling into finished magnet manufacture. The collaboration leverages Solvay's extractive and chemical processing expertise and Noveon's domestic manufacturing and EcoFlux technology to accelerate near-term production capacity while new primary supply projects remain years away.

This arrangement aims to bolster a resilient U.S. supply chain for permanent magnets used in electric vehicles, wind turbines, robotics and defense systems, reducing reliance on long global lead times and geopolitical risk. By integrating recycled feedstocks and established production routes, the partnership targets sustainable, secure access to high-performance rare earth materials critical for decarbonization and electrification technologies.
